Book Discussion at TCV Gopalpur

6th September 2014: A book discussion and presentation was done at TCV School Gopalpur on 6th September right after the class hour on Saturday. Among the three groups which were already formed, it was the first group presentation that day and it was attended by the TCV Curriculum and professional Development officer and the TEP Specialist in the presence of the school Principal Mr. Phuntsok Tashi la and Junior section Headmaster Mr. Tenzin Sangpo la.

TCV Gopalpur: PGPs and Collaborative Practices

TCV School Gopalpur has a total of 72 teachers who are covered under this Teacher Professional Development project, which will directly benefit 1221 students. The school has 3 sections namely Primary, Junior and Senior. Under the leadership of the school Principal Mr. Phuntsok Tashi la and the two headmasters Mr. Lobsang Monlam la and Mr. Tenzin Sangpo la, the school is properly implementing the Teacher Professional Development Project, initiated by the Department of Education, CTA. An intensive Orientation and workshop on the new paradigm was given by Mr. Kalsang Wangdue la, the then Tibet Fund Education Specialist from the very beginning of the session.

Teacher Professional Development

All the teachers will think about the PGP, make a concrete plan and submit in written to the section heads. Each section will decide the name of book to be read in collaboration and school heads will make necessary arrangements. Completion of TOC project by senior section and junior TOC project starts from 1st April 2014.

TCV Education Director has convened a meeting of Principals of TCV schools in HP in order to discuss the implementation of TPD Project on March 19, 2014. Followings are some the main outcomes of the meeting.
